Are you finding a lot of hair left on your comb? Do you feel that your previously gorgeous head of hair has thinned out? Hair loss (alopecia) indicates serious problems in the body for both women and men. To deal with hair loss, you must first find the cause.

What causes hair loss?
Hormonal changes: Women experience hormonal changes during pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, or when changing contraceptives. All of these situations affect the hair growth cycle and lead to hair loss. For example, childbirth is overwhelming and can push many hair follicles into a resting phase.
Some diseases: These include some chronic and autoimmune diseases as well as COVID-19.
Medicines: Antidepressants, drugs for arthritis and high blood pressure, chemotherapy for cancer.
Infections: Fungal and bacterial skin infections can reduce the amount of hair on the scalp, causing hair loss or thinning.
Stress: Stress takes away hair’s essential nutrients, making it weaker. Alopecia can develop with prolonged stress or acute emotional trauma.
