Endometriosis is a mystery disease where endometrial tissue, the lining of the uterine cavity, grows beyond its limits. Scientists and doctors cannot explain the cause of this disease. Most often, it is a consequence of a hormonal imbalance where estrogen levels increase and a progesterone deficiency develops.

The disease may also develop due to genetic predisposition. Sometimes endometriosis develops after a medical abortion, surgical treatment of the cervix, or a cesarean section.

What are the symptoms?

In the earliest stages, the disease can be almost asymptomatic. A woman may easily ignore any unpleasant symptoms, or confuse them with ordinary menstrual discomfort.
